Government hold right issue of BNI

The government is still holding the new stock issuance plan (right issue) PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BNI). Minister o BUMN Mustafa Abubakar asked BNI solve three problems that have not been clearly explained.

Three problems related to the revision of Government Regulation of the government shareholding in BNI, additional preparation related budget plans pelepaaan additional shares (green shoe), and details of utilization of funds from the proceeds of the issue right BNI.

PT Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) made a net profit of Rp490 billion in 2009, which is up from Rp430 billion in 2008.In 2009 BTN booked Rp58.5 trillion in assets growing 30.06 percent from 2008`s assets of Rp44.9 trillion. Its total credits in 2009 reached Rp40.7 trillion or grew 27.19 percent from Rp32 trillion recorded in 2008.

Presidential spokesman Julian Aldrin Pasha said earlier this month Yudhoyono was selecting the names of BI governor candidates. But he refused to mention names.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono recently submitted three names as possible replacements for BI Deputy Governor Siti Ch. Fadjrijah, to be chosen by the House of Representatives in early April. Read more »

SBY’s Speech Responded IHSG

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono’s speech, Thursday, regarding the parliament plenary, seems to have had a positive influence over the market.
The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) rose by 0.56 percent, or rose by 14.49 points to 2,580.135. The consumer’s sector has been the main support of the index at the start of the session. The majority of stocks at the start of the Indonesian Stock Exchange, Friday morning, are on the green zone, following Wall Street.

SBY in his speech defending the Rp. 6.7 trillion Century Bailout as the necessary measure that prevented the crisis.

The index for Kompas100 rose by 0.64 percent. The LQ-45 index strengthened by 0.66 percent, and the Jakarta Islamic Index also follows the rise by 0.86 percent.

BI decided to maintain the BI Rate at 6.5 percent

Meeting of the Board of Governors of Bank Indonesia (BI) decided to maintain the BI Rate at 6.5 percent level because they were considered consistent with achieving the inflation target in 2010 and 2011 for 5 plus minus 1 percent, according to Head of Public Relations Bureau Difi A BI Johansyah to the press in Jakarta , Thursday (4/3/2010).

This decision is considered conducive to efforts to strengthen the process of economic recovery, financial stability, and banking intermediation, Difi said.

BCA still waiting out the ATM Chip Standart

PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) Tbk still waiting out the chip quality standards that will be used on the card Teller (ATM). Currently, the standardization process it was in discussions with Bank Indonesia (BI) and the government.

Director of Bank BCA Suwignyo Budiman said chip card standard is needed to make BI and the bank can monitor the security of chip cards. “If there is no standard, if there are break-ins is difficult to find one. We hope that this standard could be completed this year so that gradually we will put the chip in the ATM,” he said.
