BI Prepares Rp 50 Trillion for Lebaran

Bank Indonesia was projected during the month of Ramadan until the celebration of the Idul Fitri, the demand for banknotes and coins will increase. Numbers through the number of Rp 50 trillion, an increase of 17 percent from a year earlier.

Projections increased by around Rp 7 trillion, up 17 percent from the previous year which reached Rp 42.5 trillion.

According to data from Bank Indonesia (BI), a national banking profit from foreign exchange transactions amounted to Rp 97.47 trillion. In fact, in the same period last year, the value is still Rp 15.37 trillion. While the months of May 2010, banking profits from foreign exchange transactions reached Rp 69.69 trillion.

There are still five banks have capital under Rp.100 Billion

The deadline for implementation of banking policy of a minimum capital of Rp 100 billion was getting closer. If nothing changes, Bank Indonesia has set a date of December 31, 2010 as the deadline for banks in the country to secure the capital to a minimum amount of Rp 100 billion.

Citing the Indonesian banking statistics newly released by the Bank earlier this week, until June 2010, the number of listed banks have capital below Rp 100 billion, still there are five banks. This number is down from the previous month’s position is still as much as 10 banks.
